Street Scene - 2013 Charity Calendar - ON SALE NOW
I am delighted to announce the launch of my 2013 charity calendar, and very excited and proud to be this year supporting Project Dovetail, an Australian based not-for-profit children's organisation established by my friend, and winner of 2008 Mrs. Australia, Danielle Larche.
Project Dovetail, run entirely by a team of committed and passionate volunteers, provides fantastic support to children who are disadvantaged through social situation, isolation, financial struggles, parental abandonment and illness.
Each year Project Dovetail runs various projects, camps, activities and Kids Day Out experiences, both in Australia and abroad, that enrich the lives of underprivileged children and bring hope to where it is needed most. For more information on the fantastic work undertaken by Project Dovetail, please visit www.projectdovetail.org
All profits from the sale of this year's calendar will be donated to Project Dovetail, and will specifically be used to sponsor the annual village camp in 2013 for the children at SOS Children's Village, Beau Bassin, Mauritius, an initiative that Project Dovetail has been supporting since 2010.
SOS Children's Village, Beau Bassin, is a Mauritian home for children who have gone through the struggles of parental abandonment. 2013 will be the third year running that Project Dovetail have sponsored the camp.
What is special about the SOS Village is that they reinforce the values of family. To these children, this village is their home and the house mothers and fellow children their family, which is reinforced by their organization's vision that the children are each other's brothers and sisters, both inside and outside the home.
The camp is an opportunity that not only enables the children of the SOS Village Beau Bassin to holiday with their family and participate inloads of fun activities, but also lets them knowthat they are special and that there are people in the world who care about them. The camp is usually held at Christmas time and is a wonderful opportunity for the children to have something to look forward to at a time when everyone is focusing on Christmas and family.
By purchasing the 2013 calendar, you will give the gift of family to these special children!About this year's Calendar

Supporting World Vision
I am proud to be supporting World Vision with the release of this calendar. All profits from sales will be donated to World Vision’s Haiti Earthquake Emergency Appeal.
In January 2010, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the Caribbean nation of Haiti, in the south of the country, devastating its capital Port-au-Prince. It’s estimated that over 250,000 lives were lost with a further 3 million people affected and a million people left homeless. Many of these people, including women and children are still living in makeshift camps across the country and in slums on the outskirts of the capital Port-au-Prince with limited access to basic humanitarian services, and disease is now the biggest concern. Cholera is now an epidemic in a large part of the country and funds are urgently required to prevent further spread.
For the latest information from World Vision on the situation in Haiti, please see click here.
Spread the Word
You can also help by sending this email onto friends and family who may also be interested in purchasing the calendar and supporting this appeal.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Lisa, David and the team at Momento Pro in Sydney for their support on this initiative by discounting the printing & publishing cost of this calendar.
Thank you and I look forward to your support.

philip martins | photography supports Project Dovetail
philip martins | photography is proud to be a sponsor of Project Dovetail through the use of images for the charity’s website and marketing material, in addition to donating a fully framed signature series print for a recent fundraising activity.
Set up by a good friend of mine and 2008 Mrs Australia, Danielle Larche, Project Dovetail is a non profit children's organisation that supports children who have become disadvantaged through parental abandonment, social situation, illness, location and financial struggle.
Through Project Dovetail we adopt an orphanage or home for abandoned children in some of the world’s most needing countries, and provide them with essential items, clothing, school supplies, toys and access to social services.
We also support and work closely with local children's support agencies, and plan events for disadvantaged children within Australian communities.
Project Dovetail runs a series of 'Kids Day's Out', which give local disadvantaged children and their families the opportunity to spend a day taking part in fun activities and events, that they would otherwise not have the opportunity to do so.
To learn more about Project Dovetail, their charitable events and mission, please go to their website

IMAGES FROM SOUTH AMERICA
I am currently processing my images from my South America photographic expedition and hope to have these on display in various galleries within the Travel Portfolio and Signature Series Collection very soon.
With almost 15,000 images taken, the processing phase is very time consuming exercise as it entails checking every image taken for clarity, sharpness, colour balance and tonal values, as well and scanning for and removing any unwanted dust spots to ensure that the final image is a true reflection of that particular moment.

I have completed the processing of my stock of images taken on a recent two week photographic trip to the North African country of Tunisia and have added a new Signature Series gallery
and Travel Portfolio gallery
representing a selection of some 2,500 images.
Tunisia is a country rich in culture and history, not to mention scenery, all of which made for some amazing landscape and portrait shots. From the colourful coastal towns of the north, to the sand swept region of the Grand Erg Oriental and Sahara Desert, to the dry arid expanse of the Ksour district (Star Wars territory) and mountain region bordering Algeria in the south, each image captures a glimpse of everyday life in one of the Arab world's most fascinating countries.
Please go to the Signature Series Collection and Travel Portfolio section to view these images.
