Day 7 2025 @live4lily Ride for Lily Pedal to Paradise - Brisbane, QLD to Noosa, QLD ~~ An absolute massive day to finish this year’s Ride for Lily. Leaving Brisbane at 6am we were hopeful to dodge the rain but it wasn’t to be. 25km in and the heavens opened and for the next 147km, it was a slogfest in at times torrential downpours that was only matched by the NZ ride two years ago.  . But we pushed on knowing the finish line was in sight, and finally after over 1,000km we had made it from Port Macquarie to Noosa 💪 . And in the process, as a team of 30 riders we have raised over $200k and counting for childhood cancer research at the @childrenscancerinstitute and @murdoch_childrens. . Thank you to everyone who has donated and sponsored my ride this year and supported LIVE for LILY. . Ten years ago we undertook our first ride and raised a modest $50k and since then through the support of the Live for Lily community we have now raised over $2.5m towards childhood cancer research, which we are all very proud of, but knowing there is still work to do to find a cure. . Day 6 2025 @live4lily Ride for Lily - Burleigh Heads, QLD to Brisbane, QLD ~~ Absolute epic day today, the biggest day yet cycling 161km and climbing over 2,450m. The first session was off the charts - a 40km ride including a 20km, two and a half hour 1,150m climb up through Sherbrooke National Park where some parts hit 18% gradient! 🥵 . But where there is an up, there is always the down and the decsending was a lot of fun maxing out at 76km p/h on one section. . The trip into Brissy was hot and humid on a maze of back roads, side roads, service roads and bike paths and we were fortunate to have a local to navigate our way to the hotel - after 8hrs in the Saddle. . A truely massive day of cycling and its onto our final destination, Noosa, tomorrow. . 🚲 Distance 161km (856km total) ⛰️ Elevation 2,460m (8,309m total) 🕰️ 8hrs 4min (36hrs 55min total) 💰 Overall Total Raised $195k . Day 5 2025 LIVE for LILY Ride for Lily - Byron Bay, NSW to Burleigh Heads, QLD ~~ 🚲 Distance 111km (695km total) ⛰️ Elevation 1,205 (5,849m total) 🕰️ 4hrs 59min (28hrs 51min total) 💰 Overall Total Raised $191k . Some stunning scenery today coming out of Byron Bay into the Hinterland with some decent climbs and equally fast downhill sections into Mullambimby. Session two was more climbs in the hills before we hit the north coast of NSW and into Kingscliff for lunch. The final section was the tricky navigation on roads, bike paths and roadworks crossing the border into Queensland, through Coolangata and into Burleigh Heads. . We are well over half way now and with two days to go there are some sore and tired bodies but everyone is in very good spirits and supporting each other to the finish line. All the riders are doing and amazing job as are all the support crew who have given up their time to volunteer this week to ensure their year’s ride runs smoothly. Amazing bunch of people! . Tail winds, tail winds and more tail winds 😃 . Sensational ride from Yamba to Byron Bay today, via the coast, finishing up at the lighthouse. Roads were a lot better today and even a North coast downpour on the way to Ballina couldn’t dampen our spirits. . Today was pink jersey day, where past recipients of the Sianne Hester Inspiration Award, awarded to those riders who raised the most money on a Ride for Lily, get to wear their pink jersey.
